PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the corrosion of a tank body, the infiltration of the ground water into a fermentation tank and the leaching of the moisture from the contents of the fermentation tank to the outside world by forming specific films on the inside walls and/or outside walls of the tank body having agitating means. SOLUTION: The films F consisting essentially of organopolysiloxane are formed on the inside walls and/or outside walls of the tank body having the agitating means 13. The films are preferably formed by further adding a crosslinking agent and curing accelerator to a coating material consisting of a mixture which is composed of the liquid organopolysiloxane and a hydrous org. silicon compd. formed by incorporating <=50wt.% water into an org. silicon compd. having a polyether group at the side chain and is compounded with the hydrous org. silicon compd. at >=30wt.%, then applying such coating material on the tank body and curing the coatings. The tank body of the fermentation tank is preferably formed of iron or concrete as a material.
