The device uses sensors (7a) fitted into axial holes (6) drilled into the pivot shaft (34) on the front and back suspension of the lorry. The load controller (40) and its storage medium (52b) are used to compute the change in load signals at two predetermined times. If the computed value differs from a preset value a correction is made to zero the load signals. A temperature sensor (45) is fitted at the load cells to compensate the load signals for temperature changes.
