An end strip 11 is present in the strip 10 for nonrigid support of the wire 9, which lies across the running direction of the wire and over which the wire can slide. The end strip has rigid connection to a moving support strip 12, which also lies across the running direction of the wire and is guided in a fixed structure 13. A nonrigid stop device 14 is arranged between the moving support strip 12 and the fixed structure 13, which stop device 14 can move the moving support strip together with the end strip 11 between the rest position and the working position, in which working position the end strip is supported with the desired force against the wire. The fixed structure 13, 15, 16 has several control arms 15, 16 distributed along the support strip 12 length as the only control device for controlling the moving support strip 12. Several control arms 15, 16 positioned in pairs grasp around the support strip 12 as clamps in the transverse direction of the support strip. <IMAGE>
