The invention refers to a radio-controlled traffic lights system intended for the control of vehicle and pedestrian traffic in intersections. According to the invention, the traffic lights system uses a control unit equipped with a microcomputer (A), a radio modem (B) and a radio broadcasting station (C) which automatically controls, via radio, a network consisting of traffic lights, each of them equipped with an electronic system for radio reception (D), which controls, via an electronic interface (E), a colour signaling unit (F). The colour signaling unit consists of an electro-mechanical device which switches the colour of the traffic lights by the controlled rotation, inside a casing (1) which has a window (a), of a cylinder (2) on whose lateral surface the specific colours of the traffic lights are marked, such that the colour to be signalled corresponds to the window (a).
