In wavelength-conversion laser, a solid state laser crystal (13) is pumped with light (10) and the wavelength of a solid laser beam emitted from the solid state laser crystal (13) is converted by a nonlinear optical crystal (15) disposed in a resonator for realizing type-I phase matching. An etalon (16) and a Brewster's plate (17) which functions as a polarization control element are provided in the resonator to realize a single longitudinal mode oscillation. <IMAGE>
