PURPOSE:To alleviate the concentration of stress on the edge of the free end side of a sub-plate fixed to the base plate of a suspension arm by forming a bend part on the edge toward the neutral axis of the suspension arm. CONSTITUTION:A suspension arm 12 is constituted with a base plate 26 and a sub-plate 28 for reinforcement. In addition, the base plate 26 is formed to have a C-shaped cross section with a flat plate part 30 and side wall parts 32 at both sides. Also, the sub-plate 28 has a fixed side edge 28 connected to th edges 32a of the side wall parts 32 of the base plate 26 via welding 34. In the aforesaid construction, the free side edge 28b of the sub-plate 12 is bent toward the neutral axis of the suspension arm 12 for forming a bend part 38, in order to alleviate the stress concentration of the suspension arm 12 on the free side edge 28b of the sub-plate 28. Also, a cutout part 36 is formed at the free side edge 28b of the bend part 38 and an extension weld part 40 is provided at the side walls parts 32 of the base plate 26. |
