<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an earthquake predicting device compact and portable by catching electromagnetic waves generated by ground fluctuation and displaying a predicted earthquake. SOLUTION: A receiver 10 receives electromagnetic waves generated by ground fluctuation and a detector 20 detects the electromagnetic waves and sends the waves to a control means 30. The means 30 compares the amplitude, number of vibrations, and waveform of the electromagnetic waves with those of the prestored electromagnetic waved corresponding to the omens of earthquakes of different seismic intensities. The waveform of the electromagnetic waves can be displayed graphically 40 and can also be seen as a monitor video 50. When the elelcromagnetic waves are discriminated as the electromagnetic wave corresponding to an earthquake of a prescribed seismic intensity, for example, seismic intensity of 5, a buzzer 60 is actuated or a warning lamp 70 is turned on.</p> |
