PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous solvent secondary battery having a superior cycle characteristic as well as eliminating and reducing rapid potential drop in the discharge end period and a rapid voltage rise in the negative pole in the initial period of charging. SOLUTION: A non-aqueous solvent secondary battery having a positive electrode 6, a negative electrode 4 composed of carbonaceous material capable of absorbing and discharging lithium ions, and a lithium ion conductive electrolyte, wherein the carbonaceous material is a mixture of 60 to 90wt.% of graphitized carbon fiber which the specific surface area is 10m<2> /g or less by the BET method and the interval d002 between the (002) faces in the carbon lattice is 0.337nm or less by the X-ray diffraction method, and 40 to 10wt.% of coke-based carbon particles of which the specific surface area is 1 to 10m<2> /g by the BET method and the interval d002 between the (002) faces with in the carbon lattice is 0.3405 to 0.3620nm or less by the X-ray diffraction method. |
