PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable rotor position detecting device at a low cost without using a detecting means such as an encoder in an embedded magnet type synchronous motor. SOLUTION: Exciting current of particular frequency is run through an exciting winding 13 for rotor position detection, using the exciting winding 13 for rotor position detection and rotor position detecting windings 10, 11 and 12, which are wound around a rotor, to detect induced voltage of the rotor position detecting windings 10, 11 and 12. The mutual inductance of the exciting winding 13 for rotor position detection and the rotor position detecting windings 10, 11 and 12 is changed with the position of the rotor, so that the induced voltage of the rotor position detecting windings 10, 11 and 12 changes for rotor position information. It is thus possible to constitute a rotor position detecting device with windings which can detect the rotor position from the induced voltage of the rotor position detecting windings 10, 11 and 12 and can be used in the resting condition of a rotor, thus providing high reliability and cost reduction. |
