MANUFACTURE OF RESIN FILM OF HIGH OPACITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making synthetic paper which is applicable to description with a pencil and made of an oriented translucent or opaque thermoplastic film. SOLUTION: With an oriented film having a backing of a resin composed of 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin (component A) and 8-350 pts.wt. of fine inorganic powder (component B) kept stretched, a support with an acute end is contacted with the surface of the film in parallel to the draw direction of the film, the film is folded locally, the folding angle is controlled changeably within a range of 50-140 degree, and the film is relatively moved step by step. In this way, continuous striped crazes are formed perpendicularly to the transfer direction to obtain an opaque resin film of 30-100% opacity (JIS P-8138).
