<p>Preparation of a separation medium for continuous bed reversed-phase chromatography comprises: (a) forming a mixture composed of (i) a water-soluble monomer selected from vinyl, and (meth)acrylic monomers, (ii) a crosslinking agent, (iii) an alkylmethacrylate in which the alkyl group has 3-30C, and (iv) a detergent, in an aqueous medium; and (b) polymerising (i), (ii), and (iii) in a one-step reaction. Also claimed is a preparation in which the mixture is composed of (i), (ii), (iii) a water-soluble monomer having a terminal vinyl group and a charged group, (iv) an alkyl methacrylate as described, and (v) a detergent as described, with polymerisation of (i), (ii), (iii), and (iv) taking place in a one-step reaction.</p> |
