PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject complex produced by the graft polymerization of a vinyl compound and a fungus, exhibiting various actions of fungus and useful as a medical assistant, a water-cleaning agent, etc. SOLUTION: This complex is composed of a reaction product of (A) a vinyl compound with (B) mycelium and/or fruit body of a fungus. The complex is preferably soluble in water or an organic solvent. The complex can be produced e.g. by using acrylamide and N-vinylpyrrolidone as the component A and powder of Grifola frondosa as the component B and carrying out the graft polymerization of the components in the presence of diammonium cerium nitrate. This process is expectable as a means for the utilization of mushrooms discarded as unusable resources. |
