PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a poison bait agent for exterminating insect pests capable of manifesting good exterminating effects on cockroaches, etc., due to excellent feeding properties by using an insecticidally active ingredient together with a specific compound and a grain flour, a saccharide, etc. SOLUTION: This poison bait agent for exterminating insect pests comprises an insecticidally active ingredient and 12-hydroxystearic acid used together with one or more selected from the group consisting of a grain flour, a saccharide and dextrin in combination. The amounts of the respective ingredients are 0.05-10wt.% insecticidally active ingredient, 0.01-5wt.% 12-hydroxystearic acid and 30-99.5wt.% one or more selected from the group consisting of the grain fluor, saccharide and dextrin. For example, 5-benzyl-3-furylmethyl chrysanthemate, 3-phenoxybenzyl 3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2- dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate, etc., are cited as the insecticidally active ingredient. A synergistic agent such asα-[2-(2-butoxyethoxy)ethoxy]-4,5- methylenedioxy-2-propyltoluene is further added to the system to improve effects thereof.
