PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress noise more than necessary from a motor, to secure the performance of a solenoid and to suppress the temperature rising caused by continuous energizing at the same time, to reduce the power consumption of the solenoid of a separation pawl and to reduce the cost of the solenoid itself when a multi-color image is formed. SOLUTION: When the multi-color image is formed, data for detecting paper size is inputted and such a control action that the speed of a motor for driving a developing unit 14 rotating the rotary 5 of developing units according as the switching time of the developing units 4a-4d are changed based on paper size is switched through a motor driver 30 is executed by a central arithmetic processing unit (CPU) 26. Besides, such a control action that electric power for driving the separation claw solenoid 24 displacing the paper separation claws 16 (16a and 16b) of a transfer drum 6 is more increased for the solenoid 24 at the suction start time thereof and reduced after the suction is finished is executed by the CPU 26. Then, the passing time of the pawl 16 is set according to the paper size and the solenoid 24 is controlled to be turned on/off in the set time by the CPU 26. |
