PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously print image data having different resolution even when they are continuously sent from a host computer by performing preparatory operation so as to change the various kinds of electrophotographic processing conditions corresponding to processing speed after change at the time of switching resolution. SOLUTION: The processing speed is switched to 35mm/sec from 70mm/sec right after the rear end of the first sheet of printing paper (transfer material) passes through a heating fixing device. The redetection of automatic transfer bias applying control is performed for about 1.1 sec after switching the processing speed, and after the completion of the detection, the image write-in of 1200dpi of a second sheet is performed waiting for the completion of the other preparatory operation (after about 2sec). In this case, it takes about 2sec from the cleaning position of a cleaning device 7 to the transfer position of a transfer roller 5 at the processing speed 35mm/sec by the rotation of a photoreceptive drum 1, so that a soiled part passes the transfer position even if defective cleaning is caused. |
