The bolt has a smaller diameter first threaded portion (3) which ends in a point and engages in a socket (12). A larger diameter second threaded portion (8), joined to the first via a plain unthreaded portion (5), engages in the component (7) to be installed. The free rear end of the bolt is profiled for engagement by a turning tool. One or more markings (15) are provided on the plain portion. The pitch angles of the two threads can be different, typically 40-60 deg for the first one and 30-40 deg for the second.
