PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk-reproducing device and its control method which can reduce the deceleration time of a disk motor at the time of switching a speed from the N-fold speed to no-fold speed. SOLUTION: When a speed switching command from the N-fold speed to the no-fold speed occurs, the gain of torque command 35 is switched from a high gain (K1×K2) for the N-fold speed to a low gain (K1) for the no-fold speed, after the lapse of a specified delay time given by a delay circuit 43 from the time of the generation of the command. Thereby the torque command 35 for deceleration can be amplified by the high-gain for N-fold speed to be given to a disk motor 36, and the deceleration time of the disk motor at the time of switching the N-fold speed to the no-fold speed can be also reduced.
