PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the storage and management of a set ID number by automatically setting and recognizing the ID number of a peripheral device, which is connected by a common bus, in the order of power source ON through an automatic recognition controller. SOLUTION: Computers 1 and 2 and peripheral devices 3 and 4, which are commonly connected through a bus 5, recognize the connection to other automatic recognition control parts 10 connected through the bus in the order of power source ON while using their own automatic recognition control parts 10. Corresponding to the recognition of connection, their own automatic recognition control parts 10 generate their own code numbers. Their own device code numbers and device type names are stored and managed in storage and management control parts 20 together with the code numbers and device type names of the other devices.
