An expansion control method of a memory chip and an expansion control apparatus automatically activate a slave chip when a block data is extended from a master chip to a slave chip, access a data with a successive block, and achieve the same effect as a data access in a single chip. A chip expansion control method of a random block access memory includes the steps of: setting a master chip and a slave chip; accessing a corresponding block data by using a start address and a state pointer value until an overflow occurs; determining an overflow generation direction when the overflow occurs, and moving an access range to a corresponding slave chip; accessing a data corresponding to the remaining block's address of the slave chip by using the start address and the state pointer value; and moving an access range to the master chip when accessing the data corresponding to the remaining block's address of the slave chip is finished.
