PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake system for an internal combustion engine in which flow velocity of in-flow air into the combustion chamber from one side part is made faster than that from the other part, can produce a swirl and reduce the emission. SOLUTION: In an intake system which is provided with an intake passage opened to a combustion chamber; a plurality of intake salves at the connection part of the intake passage and the combustion chamber; auxiliary passages 13a, 13b which bypass a main passage 11 and the total of their sectional areas are smaller than a sectional area of the main passage; and a control valve 14 close the main passage 11, the system is so constituted that a distance between position which each of the auxiliary passages 13a, 13b converges the main passage and the center of the combustion chamber is different for each of the auxiliary passages. |
