PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new benzyl amino compound useful as an agricultural and horticultural insecticide. SOLUTION: This benzylamino compound is shown by formula I [R<1> is phenyl; R<2> is an alkyl, H or an alkylcarbonyl; R<3> is an alkoxyalkyl, an alkenyl, a cycloalkyl, a haloalkyl, etc.; R<4> is H or an alkyl or R<3> and R<4> are bonded to form a three- to eight-membered ring with adjoining N; W is OSO2 R<10> (R<10> is an alkyl, etc.), etc.] such as 4-chloro-4'-ethylthiomethylbenzophenone N'- allylaminosulfonylhydrazone. A compound of formula II is reacted with a compound of formula III to give a compound in which R<4> is H in formula I. A compound of formula IV is reacted with an amine of formula V to give a compound in which R<2> is H in formula I. |
