The switch support has a mounting collar (2) with two jaws (7,8) that move radially. A radially deformable sleeve (5) is enclosed by the collar. The sleeve is fitted over the steering column housing and one of the jaws (8) is flexibly attached to the sleeve. The mobile jaw (8) engages a screw (3) that is parallel with the steering column, and is always accessible from the front of the support (1) to simplify fitting and removal. The second jaw (7) is fixed to the support, and forms a cradle for the sleeve. Tightening of the screw causes the end of the mobile jaw to radially, compressing the sleeve and tightening the assembly onto the steering column housing.
