A cylindrical box (2) with a lid (1) holds pads (5) which are impregnated with a polish. The upper surface of the lid (3) has a cruciform hole (4) cut in it through which a pad can be gripped by the thumb and index finger. A pile of pads are pushed up by a coil spring (6) in the base of the box. The pads are each made of a thin plastic film (8) to which a thickness of cellulose wadding (7), impregnated with the polish, is bonded. The pads are put in the box with the film on top.
