PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hyper text retrieving device capable of sequencing the significance of hyper text documents most of which needs to include documents being not always independent of each other but in a referring relation to be consistent in terms of contents without erroneously evaluating, and allowing a user to smoothly select-designating in the sequenced result. SOLUTION: A document table developing means 7 with a referring source is provided in the hyper text retrieving device 1 to develop a document table with a reference source making the identifier of the referring source document for previously analyzing the group of the hyper text documents and referring to the pertinent document for each document and an anchor sentence within the referring document into a tabular format. Thereby, at the time of processing a sequence generation means 4, the referring relation between each document is known without inquiring to a hyper text document managing means 8 every time so that it is possible to evaluate-process significance integrating the documents in the referring relation and to display-process a sequencing result integrating the documents in the referring relation without delaying.
