<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart insect proof effect with a strong washing resistance to a fiber material by applying a treating solution containing an insecticide, a thickener, a polymer binder and a crosslinking agent to the surface of the fiber material. SOLUTION: An insecticide dispersed solution containing a permethrin-based insecticide, a thickener such as carboxymethylcellulose, a polymer binder such as vinyl acetate or acrylic copolymer and a crosslinking agent such as methylated melamine resin is prepared. The dispersed solution is applied to the surface of a fiber material 20 such as cotton/polyester fiber mixture. Thereby, the permethrin-based insecticide is allowed to substantially exist on the surface of the fiber material 20 and permethrin is blocked from oxygen and ultraviolet rays by a coating layer 22 to provide the objective insect proofing fiber material having long effective life.</p> |
