PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing surface staining on a formed image at the time of performing the development, fetching toner into a developer with its movement, by driving a developer carrier in a process other than the developing process in accordance with the detected value of an image area. SOLUTION: It is constituted so that as an image area detecting means, the image area of a copied original can be read in an image processing part. In such a case, when the total image area ratio of a fixed number of originals is larger than the reference ratio X% of the total image area, a developing sleeve driving mode is set and a developing sleeve 42 is rotated when the nonimage area of a photoreceptor drum 1 reaches a position facing the developing sleeve 42, so that the developer in a developer retaining part 45 is raised to an optimum electrostatic charge quantity. |
