PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing simply a fiber reinforced resin insulating operation rod of superior strength and rigidity in the axial center direction to be used for a gas insulation switch of superior insulation characteristics. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method for an insulating operation rod used for a gas insulation switch, a publicly known braider is used for forming a cylindrical fabric by forming a first oblique yarn layer on the outer peripheral face of a mandrel 7 by woven laminating oblique yarns S by the given angle±0 to the axial center of the mandrel 7, and subsequently woven laminating a second oblique yarn layer simultaneously on the first oblique yarn layer, and also woven laminating layers similarly one by one up to an n-th oblique yarn layer, and a plurality of axial direction yarns R are disposed in the axial center direction of the mandrel 7 between an n-1th oblique yarn layer and the n-th oblique yarn layer formed by oblique yarns S and an axial direction yarn layer is formed to form a cylindrical fabric, and the cylindrical fabric is impregnated with proper heat-setting resin and successively the heat-setting resin is heat cured.
