PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transparent solid soap or transparent soap body capable of reducing a labor for finely controlling the content of water, capable of being easily produced without requiring an ageing period until the decrease in the weight, and good in the stability of the transparency and weight with the lapse of time. SOLUTION: This transparent solid soap or transparent soap body consists mainly of a fatty acid salt obtained by neutralizing a fatty acid with an alkali or by saponifying an animal or vegetable oil with the alkali. Therein, (1) the alkali comprises sodium hydroxide and an organic amine, such as triethanolamine, in a (sodium hydroxide)/(organic amine) molar ratio of 1:0 to 1:2, and (2) the amount of the alkali is 2-3 saponification equivalents based on the fatty acid or the animal or vegetable oil. |
