PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate assembly of a drive force distribution devices, integrally provided with a half shaft, to a differential. SOLUTION: A drive force distribution device T to transmit the drive force of a traverse engine through a transmission and a differential D is attached to the side of a differential D through movement in a lateral direction of a vehicle body. In the so formed drive force distribution device for a vehicle, a half shaft 9 is divided into tow sections of the one being a right shaft half body 28 assembled to the differential D side and the other being a left shaft half body 35 preassembled to the drive force distribution device T side. The two half bodies 28 and 35 are spline-coupled together between the drive force distribution device T and the differential D. This constitution suppresses a movement amount in a lateral direction of the car body of the car body during mounting of the drive force distribution device T to the coupling stroke of the spline-coupling part.
