SPECIFIED BIT DETECTION/CONVERSION METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform data conversion for preserving a data form for the change of a bit value by imparting a sequence to bits inside a segment and detecting a part for not generating a specified pattern in the segment by the change of the bit value. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a fixed length code word detection means 2 for detecting the part for satisfying a detection rule 1 among a fixed length code word part in digital data, a sequence imparting means 3 for imparing the sequence to the bits inside the segment, a pattern detection means 4 and a detection means 5 for detecting the next bit of a first bit where the segments stops satisfying a pattern as a marker and succeeding bits until the last bit of the segment. Then, by detecting only the part from the next bit of the bit not to be matched with the specified pattern first to the last bit inside the segment in a certain sequence inside the respective segments among the bits of a fixed length code word, the part for preserving a data format for the conversion of an optional bit series is detected.
