PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mitigate impression of a congested dark character and to form a character and a mark, etc., easy to read by setting a line width value suitable for its character according to the number of strokes of the character and revising the line width value. SOLUTION: When the character and the line width value of the character are inputted from an input means 101, outline information corresponding to the inputted character is read out from an outline information memory means 102, and the number of strokes of the character are counted from the outline information by a number of strokes count means 104, and the line width value of the inputted character is adjusted by a line width adjustment means 105 according to the number of counted strokes. Then, the line width value of the character in the outline information read out from the outline information memory means 102 is revised by a line width revision means 106 by referring to the line width value of the character adjusted by the line width value adjustment means 105, and the font pattern of the character is generated from the revised line width value and outputted. Thus, since the processor is constituted so that the line width value of the character is inputted, a thick letter and a thin letter are set optionally. |
