PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the transaction time by fetching previously the account information stored in a host computer to a terminal controller and extracting the prescribed information from the received account information to show the extracted information at a display part when the head customer of a queue selects a subject. SOLUTION: When a customer 20-1 gets close to an automatic teller machine ATM 19, the ATM 19 knows approach of a human body via an approach sensor and receives the account information on the head customer 20-1 of a queue 21 from a terminal controller 17. When a payment transaction is selected and a card is read, the store number and the account number shown in the magnetic stripe of the card are compared with the store number and the account number of the account information. Then the identity of the customer 20-1 is recognized if the coincidence of numbers are confirmed through the said comparison. If no coincidence of numbers are confirmed, a conventional transaction is carried out. In the former case, the balance is shown at a display input part 4 based on the account information and the input of the payment amount is urged. When the payment amount is inputted, the ATM 19 calculates the new balance and sends it to a host computer 15. In such a constitution, an input operation is simplified and the operation time is shortened. |
