PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with many types of devices by changing a turning mirror. SOLUTION: Scanning light from a rotary polygon mirror 3 passes through a scanning lens 4 and the turning mirror 5, and forms an image on a photoreceptor being a rotary drum. The mirror 5 is assembled in a turning mirror box 51 which can be attached to/detached from an optical box 6 so as to be unitized, and the unitized one is freely replaced by a unit which is different in terms of the number of turning mirrors and a reflecting direction. By changing the turning mirror unit, the applicability of the main part of the optical box 8 of the optical deflector is extended, and the cost of the information storage device of a facsimile, etc., is made low. |
