PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image output from being made in mistake while page sequence is unarranged by discriminating continuity of page information recognized by a recognition means recognizing page information and controlling image processing of an image output means based on a discrimination result so as to limit image processing with respect to originals whose page sequence is unarranged. SOLUTION: An image original is read in an image memory 16 and characters are segmented from the read image information as a longitudinally long original. A CPU 14 discriminates whether or not characters are segmented and recognizes the segmented characters so as to discriminate whether or not numeral image is a continuous page. The image stored in the image memory 16 is subjected to pattern matching to discriminate the continuity of page information, image processing of a printer section 2 being an image output means is controlled, and when page information added to an original set by the user is in error, the image output to the original is limited. Thus, image output while page number is unarranged is avoided. |
