PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the restarting time of a lamp after occurrence of a momentary break in a power supply by installing an external starter parallel with a discharge lamp through a switch which is operated with the time difference between two timers having different delay times installed on the power supply side of a stabilizer. SOLUTION: When a momentary break is generated in a power supply, a lamp remains in the put-off condition even if the power supply is restituted. At the same time as the momentary break, timers 17 and 18 are reset, among which the one 17 starts counting at the same time as the power restitution, and after the time-up, its output relay is actuated, while the other 18 remains still counting and its output relay is left out of actuation and its contact is left closed. This generates the condition that the source voltage is impressed on an external starter 5, which causes emission of the start pulse. In the lamp 6, a high temp. condition is lasting, so that thermal responsive switches 11 and 12 remain open and no source voltage is impressed on the internal starter, and no actuation will take place. Therefore, the lamp can be restarted easily in a short time by the operation of the external starter 5. |
