PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain good thermal conduction to a superconducting coil and thus realize stabilization of the operation, by forming a spool of the superconducting coil using a member supporting mechanical strength, and coating the surface of the spool with a member contributing to thermal conduction. SOLUTION: A spool 8' of a superconducting coil is constituted by a mechanical strength supporting member, and the surface of the supporting member is coated with a member contributing to thermal conduction. Stainless steel is used as the mechanical strength supporting member, and the surface of the stainless steel spool 8' is coated with a copper plating layer 14. A cut groove 14' is provided in the coating layer 14, thus restraining generation of an eddy current. A ceramic material is also used as the mechanical strength supporting member, and Au, Ag, Al and the like are used as the member of the coating layer 14. In addition, as a coating method, a method for bonding a foil film is used other than plating. Thus, the thermal conductivity of the spool is improved and the initial cooling time of the superconducting coil is reduced, thus enabling stabilization of operation. |
