The camera includes a central lens which focusses rays onto a CCD array. An IR transmission array (3) is positioned around the outside of the lens, with a central aperture (6) left for positioning of the lens. The array is formed from a number of IR elements (4) which transmit in the wavelength band 300-1000 nm. Each element is controllable (9) so the IR beam always covers the area seen by the central lens aperture. A translucent cover is positioned over the array. |
