PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of stopping down a beam size in the main scanning direction remarkably smaller than a pixel size while suppressing an adverse effect due to a side lobe. SOLUTION: A light beam is divided to plural optical paths in the main scanning direction by two sheets set of triangular prisms, and the light beams divided to plural optical paths are converged on a surface to be scanned, and interference of light is caused. Thus, a Bessel beam is formed only in the main running direction. On the contrary, related to the sub-scanning direction, a Gaussian beam is formed as usual. At this time, the extremely thin beam size of 10μm extent is realized in the main scanning direction as shown in (A), while limiting the occurrence of the side lobe only in the main scanning direction.
