PC security system against unauthorized access

The system uses a software loaded in the PC and a proximity field transponder system, whose query unit (10) is connected over an interface (12) to the PC (14), and whose response unit (16) is to be carried by an authorized user on its body. The software loaded in the PC releases a display on the screen only then, if the query unit recognizes the existence of a response unit of a carrier authorized for access, and otherwise activates the screen saver. The query unit is preferably formed to be attached underneath a keyboard (18) of the PC, or underneath the work surface accommodating the PC.
