The present invention pertains to the field of electrochemistry and electrical engineering and relates to methods for making grounding anodes. This invention may be used in systems for the cathodic protection of gas or crude oil pipelines against underground corrosion as well as in the chemical industry, in electrical safety systems and in static electricity protection systems, etc. This invention essentially relates to a grounding anode comprising a current conductor and a polymer sheath therefor. The sheath of the grounding anode consists of a rubber binder mixed with metallurgical waste having magnetic properties, or a mixture of those components with carbon black. This invention also relates to a composition for the grounding anode and to a method for preparing this composition.
