A system and method for optimally compressing a software specification software language (100) includes supplying the software specification that is compressed (103) using a custom process. The customized software specification is then again compressed (105) using standard compression techniques where it is converted to an optimized format that is substantially smaller in size than the first format. This permits an optimally compressed format of the software specification to be distributed (105) to one or more electronic devices using limited bandwidth. The electronic device is then able to decompress (107, 109) the optimally compressed format using a corresponding decompression process where it can be submitted (109) for automatic code generation and processing.
