User interface for a telephone terminal

The Man to Machine interface has a terminal interfacing with a telephone line, which passes a user request to a remote terminal. The options can be selected by the user from a user terminal (1). The user has a facility (2) which allowing an optimisation of the selections available from the terminal to the user choice. The different selectable options can be indicated to the terminal, and each terminal operating mode can be determined from a menu.
