The speed-changing device includes a stepped gearbox (16) which is coupled to the engine (10) by a clutch (17). A gear selector lever (20) is connected by cable (28) to the gearbox control lever (30) which is actuated by a double-acting hydraulic jack (62) with proportional control. Two sensors (29,32) detect manual forces exerted on the knob (22) and cable. Their signals are processed by a principal electronic calculator (34) which acts on a secondary calculator (40) linked to the engine load controller, e.g. an injection pump (38), and on the clutch control valve (50). Another secondary calculator (80) operates the hydraulic distributor (72) supplying the jack. |
