<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to continue an operation as it is under a condition at the time of 'power off' even when an electric power is turned on, in regard to an image forming device and a method for controlling power consumption for the image forming device. SOLUTION: An electric power is supplied to blocks B1, B2 from a single power supply part 9 to activate this image forming device. When set in the power saving mode, only the block B1 is operated under such a state that it can detect an input from a host computer 100, contributing to the saving of power consumption. If the input is detected, the operation is shifted to the routine power mode to activate both blocks B1, B2 and thus a routine image formation is executed. Unless the input is made for a specified time, control variables are stored in a storage part 8 to shift the operation to the power saving mode. The control variables are read when the operation is shifted to the routine power mode.</p> |
