PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for paint, etc., in which, when the atmospheric pressure inside rises, the gaseous matter therein escapes suitably and, when the paint is in use after the unsealing, the paint functions as a packing so that the paint is held in a favorable airtight state. SOLUTION: A horizontal groove 10 is provided throughout along the opening 5 of a can. Therefore, when the atmospheric pressure inside the container rises abnormally high, the gaseous matter flows from a lower part where adhesion is thinly formed into a layer of air 9 formed between the lid 7 and the horizontal groove 10 and escapes to the outside; the lid 7 comes off the opening 5, hence enabling avoiding damage, etc., of the container body. Moreover, the paint gathered in the horizontal groove 10 functions as a packing so that the container can be held in a favorable airtight state. |
