PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic composition of high dispersion with high shield against ultraviolet rays and high stability by using fine particles of specifically treated titanium oxide, zinc oxide and clay mineral. SOLUTION: This cosmetic composition contains three different kinds of base materials, in other words, fine particles of titanium oxide, zinc oxide and clay mineral which are surface-treated with at least one of silicone oils, for example, methyl hydrogen polysiloxane or the like. The weight ratio of the silicone-treated fine particles of titanium oxide, zinc oxide and clay mineral is (10-80)/(80-10)/(10-30), particularly (45-65)/(30-10)/(10-20). One or more among these three components preferably form secondary coagulation particles. In addition, at least one among the three components are crushed or disintegrated and simultaneously silicone is adsorbed or bonded to the crushed or disintegrated products. This cosmetic composition is used in an amount of 5-20wt.% in a cosmetic.
