PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability for SOx . in an exhaust gas, heat resistance, and thermal impact resistance by producing a exhaust gas purification catalyst by adding vanadium sulfate and one or more sulfates of alkali metals. SOLUTION: A catalyst for exhaust gas purification having excellent function to remove particles contained in an exhaust gas emitted out of diesel engines contains vanadium sulfate as (a) component and one or more sulfates of alkali metals as (b) components. Either one of lithium and sodium is used as the alkali metal for the b components and lithium sulfate is used as the alkali metal sulfate. Moreover, one or more sulfuric acid salts of one or more metals selected from copper, manganese, etc., may be added as (c) component and copper sulfate is used as the sulfuric acid salt of a metal as c component. Furthermore, as (d) component, one or more metal oxides selected from alumina, silica, etc. is added. |
