The high-pressure discharge lamp, having an outer bulb (12) and a ceramic discharge tube (1), has a starting aid in the form of an auxiliary starting wire (20) which runs along the discharge tube (1). One end of the auxiliary starting wire (20) is welded to the one end of a bimetallic strip (21). The other end of the bimetallic strip (21) is welded to the niobium tube (4) of the electrode vacuum-tight seal that is close by. The bimetallic strip (21) is angled in an essentially stepped manner. ……
