The throughflow ability of the flow medium (6) in the power-assisted steering equipment of the vehicle is at least strongly prevented by the activation of the stop device. The stop device has two pressure conduits (2,3) leading to the steering cylinder (4) of the power-assisted steering equipment and an operable valve is incorporated, which on activation effects a position change. Two such valves may be incorporated and are formed as magnet valves (17). Their position change into that where they block the throughflow ability of the flow medium is brought about by an interruption of their voltage supply.
