Internal locking prosthesis for artificial hip-joint

The stem (1) is implanted in the top part of the femur without using cement, and is covered on the outside by an open-mesh three-dimensional net structure (2). At the proximal end is a boss (3), onto which an artificial joint-ball fits. A locking bolt (5) passes from the side through a plate (6) forming a support and screws into a tapped bore in the proximal part of the stem. The bore can be contained in the boss, running in its axial direction, and the thread can be self-locking. The plate can have a pin (7) extending in the direction of the bolt, and which can be struck either above or below the bolt axis (8).
